The sequencing of the Transcriptome
The transcriptome represents the whole set of RNAs present in a cell at a given time. It includes mRNAs, RNAr RNAr ARNt ARNnc. Its composition differs according to the cell type, the biological and environmental state of the cell at the time of the measurement/extraction.
According to the protocol of RNA extraction, sequencing will allow:
– analysis of the differential expression of transcripts between them or between different biological conditions
– Variant detection (SNP)
– the identification of alternative transcripts (isoforms, fusion genes, etc.)
– the discovery of new transcripts and RNAncs
– translation review (ribosomal profiling)
