This project will provide a new appraisal of the extent and distribution of marine biodiversity and of the abiotic and biotic drivers of its distribution through
►Metabarcoding of a worldwide sampling of deep-sea sediment and seawater using genes selected to reveal the broadest taxonomic range.
►Production of metagenomes of microbial assemblages chosen from metabarcode data.
►Genome scan of species inhabiting contrasted ecosystems to estimate connectivity and test for the footprint of selection.
