Bio-informatics Platform of Bordeaux CBiB
The team at the Bordeaux Bioinformatics Centre (CBiB) operates at the frontier between life sciences and computer science – statistics. Its expertise lies in the collection, integration, cross-referencing and analysis of omics data. The challenge of analysing large volumes of data quickly and reliably leads the CBiB to develop “Big Data” based methods. To do so, the CBiB brings together the required skills in bioinformatics and computer science; the centre is equipped with the appropriate computing and storage resources, in coherence with regional facilities (the Mésocentre de Calcul Aquitain – MCIA), the national bioinformatics infrastructure (Investissement d’Avenir, Institut Français de Bioinformatique – IFB) and the European ELIXIR infrastructure.
Expertise
- "Omics" data analysis and integration
- Development of specific analyses
- Pipeline development and bioinformatics methods
The platform’s expertise is particularly renowned in algorithmics, high throughput integration of biological data, their analysis and visualization. Whether for large projects or for particular expertise, the team has the skills, equipment and capability to study the complexity of biological systems.
