Bioinformatic platform of Lille
The bilille platform offers a wide range of services in bioinformatics, from advice to support in your projects, whether you are a beginner or more experienced.
Its scientific scope includes in particular: omics data analysis, sequence annotation, phylogeny, systems biology, structural bioinformatics, integrative biology, high content screening data analysis and image data analysis.
Equipments
bilille’s computing resources are available through a cloud, accessible to all research units’ members who need intensive computing resources to analyze biological data. These resources are hosted by the HPC department from the University of Lille.
This OpenStack cloud comprises:
- 264 CPUs cores, 2.19 TB RAM, 140 TB of storage and dedicated 10 Gbs network
- 96 CPUs cores and 768 GB RAM integrated to the national clouds federation Biosphere (French Institute of Bioinformatics)
Main projects
- visCorVar, R package for visualization of multi-block data integration results (published soon, http://wikis.univ-lille.fr/bilille/galaxy-viscorvar)
- Norine, a resource for non-ribosomal peptides (http://bioinfo.lifl.fr/norine/)
- mirkwood, fast and easy identification of plant microRNAs (http://bioinfo.lifl.fr/mirkwood/)
- MATAM, assembly for phylogenetic markers in metagenomics (http://github.com/bonsai-team/matam)
- SortMeRNA, filtering and alignment of conserved markers reads in metagenomics (http://bioinfo.lifl.fr/RNA/sortmerna/)
- RNAspace, a platform for non-coding RNAs (http://www.rnaspace.org/)
Training
bilille organizes bioinformatics training in collaboration with continuing education services from CNRS, University of Lille and Inserm. Dedicated training for Ph.D. students through the University of Lille’s doctoral school and for private companies through the CNRS Formation Entreprises program are also proposed. Scientific days and technical events open to the whole community in biology, health, and bioinformatics are organized all year long.
